ABOUT MURIEL TAUB GLANTZMAN

I start my work without a preconceived idea. Similar to improvisation in jazz, spontaneity is an important part of my creative process. The color, line and form in the painting evoke an emotional response.

Some of my work is comprised of collage drawings, painting papers, and acrylics; other paintings are solely acrylic on canvas.

My work is influenced by art as varied as Indian paintings, Persian miniatures, Russian icons, and 14th and 15th century Italian illuminations and paintings. I want to give expression to my life and times with the vitality and drama shown in those paintings.
